Everyone day dreams of what their perfect life would be like. I’m not talking about “what would I do if I won a few millions dollars” dream. No. But that one where as you’re working at your mundane job, watching your favorite TV show, losing yourself in this week’s blockbuster movie, you wish that your life held more for you. Perhaps something exciting, or less stressful, maybe even a total revision of your current situation.
Is it just about what job you do? Of course not. Is it your hobbies or interests? Somewhat, but it’s that complexity that makes your Optimum Reality exciting.
My Optimum Reality currently consists of my wife and daughter, working as an entrepreneur and enjoying things like bee keeping, golf and my latest wood working project – building a rocking chair. Of course, those who know me as a lawyer find it odd that I would keep bees, build furniture and spend oodles of time with my rock star kid.
The big question is WHY? Why would someone who once practiced law – considered cerebral and intellectual – now be participating in something as fanciful as making his own honey or as hands on as crafting furniture?
That isn’t the real question though. The real question is – WHY NOT?
That’s what we are going to work through on this site. Together. Why not? Why has society decided that people are one thing or another and rarely both? Crafty, artsy and eccentric people can’t grasp the letter of the law, think critically or speak articulately. That articulate, well spoken, analytical people are unable to let loose, create wild and inspired art or jump out airplanes. It’s these stereotypes and pigeon holes that we put on ourselves and others in that keep us from experiencing our Optimum Reality. A truly optimum reality that encourages multiple interests, numerous passions, and new and exciting experiences. These vast and varying experiences are what create dimensional people. Most importantly, whole and satisfied people.
